Piano Lessons in Copenhagen

It means a great deal to me, as a teacher, to pass on the joy of playing the piano. To my mind piano teaching is the perfect way into a rounded musical upbringing, and a foundation for a broad understanding of music.
I teach piano to children, young people and adults. I care a great deal about the setting: warm and enjoyable, yet serious where it counts. I work with a broad repertoire, chosen together with the student and the parents, after their wishes and their ambition. And I teach from two things at once — a sound technique at the keyboard, and the slow opening of the musical ear. Both stay with the student for the rest of life.
I take beginners gladly. And I often meet adults who return to the piano after many years away; some have not touched a key since childhood, and they find a real joy in beginning again.
As a teacher I care that the student learns a healthy technique early, and that we turn to notation early too. From there we can go into what music actually is, and what the piano might come to mean in a life. I am also a composer, and so now and then I will encourage a student to write music of their own.

Student concerts
I also arrange concerts for my students. To play for others is a large part of the learning, and for a child it shapes the whole person, not only the playing.
Twice a year I hold a large student concert, where the students can play on a real stage, learn to perform, and meet others who share the same love. There is room, too, for playing together with other instrumentalists, for a different kind of musical experience.
A lesson lasts 30 or 45 minutes as a rule, though it can vary with what the student wants. The teaching is quite affordable compared with the music schools, and more flexible.
I also compose, and I teach composition. If it is composition you are after, in English and online, you will find that side of my work at compositionteaching.com.
